Obama can’t seem to catch a break on his oil spill response

By Courtland Milloy at The Washington Post

“When it comes to oil, we seem to be stuck in some infantile stage where it’s okay to suckle on the gas pump till the well runs dry. We don’t care where the oil comes from, and we’ll do anything to get it. Boycott BP? You’ve got to be kidding. Our appetite is insatiable, and now that gorging has got us in trouble we want Obama to burp us and jump-start our sense of outrage.

Outrage at anybody other than ourselves, of course.” (link)

One Response to “Obama can’t seem to catch a break on his oil spill response”

  1. Okay, this has NOTHING to do with oil spills. The Star Wars post is unfindable right now for some reason, but this just has to be shared. Remember when we thought it was so cool to use ASCII graphics and WAY cooler if we could make them move…?

One of my newsfeeds had this item: “There’s nothing quite like inventive engineers with time on their hands. After reverse-engineering a microcontroller, rewriting software for it, creating a typeface, and building a frame buffer for an LED display… a group of engineers created an ASCII version of the beginning of Star Wars: A New Hope. Watch it from the comfort of your own galaxy.”
